Mark Duro is an incredibly innovative glass designer and artist who has been independently producing beautiful pieces of art since 1976. Over the past 26 years Duro has completed hundreds of private commissions as well as corporate and ecclesiastical projects. His very diverse self-taught abilities have allowed him to design and fabricate pictorial images in glass ranging from a six by twelve foot window scene of a fantasy forest filled with fairies (etched in glass), to the restoration of a 2,100 square foot ceiling of painted and fired leaded glass panels, which was originally installed in the early 1920's.
Mark is a stickler for detail, whatever the project. Each of his creations is truly unique and individual using self-developed, three-dimensional and sculptural techniques. These techniques include: painting and firing, acid etching, glass slumping and bending, fusing, glass casting, sandblast etching and contour glass carving, and color application to etched glass and mirrors.
