Taken from an early Viking memorial stone from Lillbjärs on Gotland. Two mysteriously cloaked figures sail their lonely ship, one holds the rudder while the other seems to be a passenger with his arms outstretched towards something unseen. Perhaps it's a portrayal of the dead on its final journey to the world of spirit. |
